Publishing | La publication

Publishing is the final stage of the writing process that allows the author to share his/her story with others who will want to read it. By knowing that others will read a piece, the writer will work more diligently to make certain the piece is as polished as possible.

Publishing one’s work can be as simple as recopying the work onto a clean or colourful piece of paper, or as involved as creating a book. The writer can create illustrations to go with the story or can decorate the paper the story is written on. If illustrations or pictures are created, the writer should also include captions.

This may also mean that a bibliography needs to be added and citations need to be correct.

Remember that the writing might never be published and that’s okay. Everything a child writes is of value because it contributes to the child’s personal growth as a writer.
